Sandwell Vision Strategy 2011
Today, 19 July 2011, we are placing on our website a link to the Sandwell Vision Strategy, which is available to download from the Sandwell Council website.
This comprehensive strategy is testament to the excellent partnership working between a user controlled voluntary organisation, SVI (Sandwell Visually Impaired) and the statutory service provider, Sandwell’s Adult and Community Services, now operating within the People Theme.
This strategy describes and brings together the fragmentary provision of services for the visually impaired community. It identifies accountable, time limited actions that should tackle the barriers faced by people living with sight loss, enabling them to receive fair treatment and contribute to the community in which they live.
It is important that we both, provider and user, avoid allowing the continued fragmentation of provision by ensuring all service actions are developed and delivered through the accountability embodied in Sandwell’s Vision Strategy.
Graham Price, SVI Management Committee Member lead on the Vision Strategy.
