Would you like to learn to touch type and use a computer?
Now’s an ideal opportunity to become more confident about using a computer and to learn to touch type. Whatever your age and whether you have ever used a typewriter, keyboard or computer before or even if you would just like to be able to type more quickly. Why not join SVI’s West Bromwich AZABAT touch typing training sessions, knowing that the extra help you need is on hand from people who understand the difficulties that visually impaired people can face.
SVI has been given some funding from Sandwell’s Local Area Budget to offer free keyboard and touch typing awareness sessions to visually impaired people.
It starts in September 2011 and includes:
A half day group introduction session on Thursday 15 September.
One-to-one help from a friendly and supportive learning buddy, for up to ten individual sessions.
Welcoming and friendly Library staff who will get you set up on a computer and help you with other Library services.
Help at the end of the telephone.
These sessions take place at West Bromwich Central Library, High Street, West Bromwich B70 8DZ - SVI will cover your travel costs as long as you have a receipt for your journey. So now’s the time to give it a try learning to touch type could open up a whole new world of communications and information.
If you are already a competent keyboard user, would you like to help someone to learn touch typing? You will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the project.
